Pure cost-covering! Hosting a website costs real money (compute, bandwidth, infrastructure). The monthly fee goes directly toward keeping your site online and fast. I'm not padding margins here, I just want to help local businesses get online at a price that actually makes sense. The work I put into building your site is on me. The hosting is just the cost of keeping the lights on, priced as low as I can possibly manage!

The demo site is hosted live for 7 days with a small visible watermark while it's live, that's just a normal part of the free demo and how I reach new clients through word of mouth. On the Starter package, your live site carries a small "Designed by Lachy's Web Dev" credit in the footer. On the Pro package, there's no branding at all. Fully yours!
Yes! Every site I build includes solid SEO foundations as standard! That means proper page titles, meta descriptions, fast loading via a global CDN, mobile-first design, secure HTTPS, and clean semantic code that search engines love.

For local businesses specifically, getting set up on Google Business Profile is usually the biggest single win. It's what gets you showing up on Google Maps when someone nearby searches for your type of business. I help with that as part of the Starter and Pro packages!

What I can't promise is a specific ranking or position; anyone who claims otherwise is not being straight with you. But I'll make sure your site gives you the best possible foundation!
Pro sites can include a smart AI chatbot that answers your customers' common questions 24/7, right on your website, things like your hours, services, pricing and location. It comes with 50 conversations a month included, and you can upgrade for more if your site gets busy. It's a great way to take pressure off your inbox and capture leads after hours! 💬 I'll tailor it to your business and pop it on your site for you, want to see it in action? Just ask!
You've got two easy options, whichever suits you best:

1. I sort it out for you. I'll register and set up your domain through a trusted registrar (like GoDaddy or VentraIP) so you don't have to touch a thing. If the name you want is only sold on a fixed-term contract, that contract is paid upfront, plus a small, reasonable handling surcharge for setting it all up and looking after it. You'll always see the full cost before anything is locked in.

2. You buy it yourself. Grab your own domain from any registrar and I'll walk you through pointing it at the website I built for you, completely free of charge.

As a rough guide, common .com.au and .com names usually run about $15–30/year; premium names can cost more. Want to check a name? Have a look on GoDaddy. Either way, nothing is locked in until you've seen the exact price and said yes!
Simple! Refer another local business to me, and when they sign up to a hosting plan, you both get a full month of hosting free. Just make sure they pop your name (or business) in the "Who referred you?" box on the contact form, or have them mention you when we chat.

There's no limit, it's stackable! Refer five businesses who come on board and that's five free months for you. The free month is credited once your mate's first payment goes through, and it applies to whatever plan you're each on. It's my way of saying thanks for helping a small operation grow!
Cancel anytime! After a minimum 3-month subscription, you can also request the full website files to keep and host yourself, no watermark, all yours. Before the 3 months, the site will simply come down if you cancel. This is all spelled out clearly in the Terms of Service too!
On the Pro plan, revisions are unlimited but subject to complexity, reasonability, and how busy I am at the time! Small changes like text, colours, images, layout tweaks, are always included and I'll get to them quickly. Large-scale redesigns or completely new features will be discussed separately. I'll always be upfront with you if something falls outside of what's reasonable!

Free Demo

The free demo is a live, hosted website built specifically for your business. It is hosted for 7 days and includes a small visible watermark while it is live, which is a normal part of the free demo and helps Lachy's Web Dev reach new clients through word of mouth.

Hosting Packages

Monthly hosting is billed in advance via Stripe. You may cancel at any time. Your website will be taken down if payment is not received within a reasonable grace period. After a minimum 3-month subscription, you may request the full website files to keep and host yourself, delivered with no watermark.

Website Files

Website files are available upon request after a minimum subscription period: 6 months on Starter, 3 months on Pro. Files are not provided on cancellation before this period. Lachy's Web Dev retains no claim over your business content or information. The files are yours once delivered.

Revisions & Changes

Unlimited revisions (Pro plan) are subject to complexity, reasonability, and current workload. Small changes are always included. Large redesigns or new features may be quoted separately. Additional revisions on the Starter plan beyond the included monthly allowance will be quoted individually.

Service Availability

Lachy's Web Dev makes no guarantee that this service will operate indefinitely. In the event the service ends, all affected clients will be given reasonable notice and their website files delivered at no charge. Lachy's Web Dev reserves the right to end the service relationship with any client at any time, in which case files will be provided and any prepaid unused period refunded.

Uptime

Hosted websites are deployed via Netlify. Uptime performance is Netlify's commitment, not Lachy's Web Dev's personal guarantee. Lachy's Web Dev is not liable for third-party infrastructure outages.

Pricing

All prices are in AUD and may change in the future. Existing customers will always receive advance notice of any price changes. Domain costs are separate from hosting costs and vary based on availability and demand; these will be confirmed before any commitment is made.

Referrals

When you refer another business who signs up to a hosting plan, both you and the referred business receive one month of hosting free. The free month is credited once the referred business's first payment is processed. Referrals are stackable.

Payments

All payments are processed securely via Stripe. ABN: 14 399 881 455.

What We Collect

When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, business name, business location, email address, and the message you provide. We also collect information about how you heard about us.

How We Use It

  • To send invoices and manage your account

Who Sees It

Your information is seen only by Lachy's Web Dev. Form submissions are processed by Netlify (netlify.com); see their privacy policy at netlify.com/privacy. We do not sell, share, or rent your information to any third party.

AI-Assisted Tools

Some tools and software used in the course of delivering our services may incorporate artificial intelligence features. Information you provide may be processed by such tools solely for the purpose of building and improving your website. We do not use your information to train AI models, and any AI-assisted processing is limited to legitimate business operations on your behalf.

Data Retention

We retain your information for the duration of the service relationship and for a reasonable period after, as required for billing and legal purposes.

Your Rights

You may request to view, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by emailing lachyswebdev@gmail.com. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
